QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent Training/Experience.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of general construction/maintenance experience.
  3. Experience in multiple trades preferred (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting, masonry, etc.).
  4. Demonstrated aptitude or competence in mechanical repairs, cleaning, and other maintenance/custodial tasks. 
  5. Valid driver’s license with no serious violations.
  6. Satisfactory health status as certified by a physician.
  7. Required Criminal History Background Check and proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  8. Acceptable references.

 

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager and/or Business Administrator

 

EMPLOYMENT: 12 months

 

JOB GOAL: To maintain the physical school plant and grounds in excellent operating condition.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide maintenance and repair of district facilities, including: 
  1. Inspect building interiors and exteriors, including heating and cooling systems; perform necessary maintenance and repairs.
  2. Install, repair, and replace door and window assemblies and related hardware, including glass and screens.
  3. Install and repair ceiling and floor materials, including:
  1. Perform remodeling and renovation projects as required, including drywall installation, painting, door installation, drop ceiling work, and related construction tasks.
  2. Assist with relocation of furnishings and equipment, including desks, tables, chairs, and file cabinets.
  3. Move, install, assemble, and repair school furniture and playground equipment as needed.
  4. Perform grounds work throughout the district, including mowing, trimming, pruning, cutting, and weeding.
  5. Operate tools and equipment in accordance with established safety procedures.
  6. Follow proper safety techniques while performing job duties, including lifting, climbing, and equipment operation.
  7. Identify and correct unsafe conditions; report non-correctable issues promptly to the Facilities Manager.
  8. Maintain tools and equipment and perform preventative maintenance as required.
  9. Report building maintenance issues and repair needs within a reasonable timeframe.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.


HOURSThis position has no set hours and operates on an on-call basis. Employees may set their work schedule to meet their needs, which can be days/nights/weekend

Non-Certified Staff (Substitute):  Hourly $ 50.00
