| Description | QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Training/Experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of general construction/maintenance experience.
- Experience in multiple trades preferred (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting, masonry, etc.).
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence in mechanical repairs, cleaning, and other maintenance/custodial tasks.
- Valid driver’s license with no serious violations.
- Satisfactory health status as certified by a physician.
- Required Criminal History Background Check and proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Acceptable references.
REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager and/or Business Administrator
EMPLOYMENT: 12 months
JOB GOAL: To maintain the physical school plant and grounds in excellent operating condition.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide maintenance and repair of district facilities, including:
- Repairing woodwork, roofs, fixtures, and motors
- Painting and surface finishing
- Repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems
- Replacing ballasts, bulbs, switches, receptacles, and broken glass
- Inspect building interiors and exteriors, including heating and cooling systems; perform necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Install, repair, and replace door and window assemblies and related hardware, including glass and screens.
- Install and repair ceiling and floor materials, including:
- Ceramic and VAT tile
- Acoustical and fixed ceiling panels
- Installation, modification, and repair of drop ceiling systems and gridwork
- Perform remodeling and renovation projects as required, including drywall installation, painting, door installation, drop ceiling work, and related construction tasks.
- Assist with relocation of furnishings and equipment, including desks, tables, chairs, and file cabinets.
- Move, install, assemble, and repair school furniture and playground equipment as needed.
- Perform grounds work throughout the district, including mowing, trimming, pruning, cutting, and weeding.
- Operate tools and equipment in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Follow proper safety techniques while performing job duties, including lifting, climbing, and equipment operation.
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions; report non-correctable issues promptly to the Facilities Manager.
- Maintain tools and equipment and perform preventative maintenance as required.
- Report building maintenance issues and repair needs within a reasonable timeframe.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
HOURS: This position has no set hours and operates on an on-call basis. Employees may set their work schedule to meet their needs, which can be days/nights/weekend
